Since we’re coming up on our two month anniversary in a few days, I thought it was time to reflect on the amazing progress we’ve made in such a short amount of time.
As of this post, we have 315 approved free designs for download which means we’ve been averaging 5.25 new designs a day which is really nice.
The forum is thriving and we now have site moderators in place.
The three of us site admins are continuing our morning, noon and night coding sessions as we continue to smooth out the inner workings of the site code and bring in new features.
I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone involved in our open source web design community and to personally thank you for your continued support as we move forward with daily progress for the site.
As of this post, OpenDesigns.org now has 220 free website templates available for download.
Also, as most already know, the new design is up. Special thanks go out to Snop of FullAhead for his winning design.
The forum is also now integrated with the new site look and feel.

By Sean, December 22nd, 2006 170 Designs
Well I just approved the 170th design for the site. We have just a little over one week until the year 2007 comes, so I’m wondering if we’ll actually hit 200 designs by December 31, 2006?
I’m assuming things are slow because of the holiday but expect things to pick up the first week of January 2007.
I hope everyone has a fun, safe and enjoyable holiday where ever you’re located.
Thanks again to everyone for their continued support of the new project. Happy holidays!
By Sean, December 18th, 2006 155 Designs
Today we hit 155 approved designs and the numbers keep growing thanks to the wonderful community and designer support.
I wonder if we’ll hit 200 designs before the new year?
At the rate we are going, it sure looks like it!
Thanks again everyone for your continued support.
