  1. What are you guy using to let customers make changes to their site?
If you build a static css/xhtml site what would you give your customer to allow them to edit it?

I usually sell a maintenance agreement and my customers just call me to make changes, or I use Wordpress. I don't think this is going to work with my current client and I'm a little out of the loop on these solutions.

I would pick a content mangement system that would allow them to build pages and add modules to those pages as needed. Of course, custom work is always agreed to be done by the developer and not the customer.

So then describe what the special needs of your client are.

  4. Thanks for the replies. He decided to go with a custom Wordpress configuration.
Which will work well, I needed something to keep the code out of the customers reach and be css based.

I might be late, but there are several open source wysiwyg editors you can use in a website. The best i found and also the one that i use with LightNEasy is FCK Editor http://www.fckeditor.net
You can use either a lightweight CMS which uses no database with an integrated wysiwyg editor, like http://www.lightneasy.org or customize your pages to include only the editor.
