There's a difference between approving templates and approving templates

I know people have been complaining that templates haven't been, being approved and that there was a large list of ones to approve so they probably haven't been checked that thoroughly, but templates such as this couldn't be more blatant spam.

OD isn't a link farm, or a spam haven, at least it never used to be. Have we changed our rules on what's to be uploaded, if so, can you please notify the members, or has everything just become a bit lax?

I realise there are always mistakes, but this one couldn't be more obvious. I can't believe it was an accidental oversight from someone who was genuinely checking it and adhering to the guidelines that this site has always followed.

Also, what happened to the speed of the site :( I'm trying to look at the authors other templates and they've been loading for a good 5 minutes, i'm going to sit on this tab for a bit without pressing submit for fear of it not getting posted.

These also, all couldn't be more blatant. Also why have we removed the rel nofollow links? What's the point in spending ages arguing about such things before finally coming to decisions, if they're just going to be undone a little further down the line without a word to anyone.

/preview/?template=2059
/preview/?template=2056

And although I was under the impression we had banned sponsored links altogether, the rules tell me we actually changed it to only allowing 2, a rule which this template still breaks.

/preview/?template=2065

I realise that this site is no longer a community and is now a one man show, but either changing the rules and regulations of the site without either updating the guidelines page or informing members or blindly approving templates without taking any care or attention to make sure the sites looked after properly is not the way to go about things.

Whichever the reason, it doesn't really matter, both are hurting the site.

I don't see how any of those could have been ignored if they were looked at properly...

My guess is they weren't looked at at all. Whomever is approving them saw the thread about no new designs being posted, went to the queue and approved the first two templates in line.

5. Have there been a new list of moderators chosen yet? Or is it just Joe right now? There was a lot of talk about new moderators, but I haven't seen an official list yet.

I would be happy to approve/reject templates by actually making sure it meets guidelines.

I think Joe walked away from this place and left the keys inside.

I notice that new templates have been approved, but no comment from Joe yet...

I got an email from Joe about moderators on the 19th Feb but I've heard nothing since. I guess Joe must be busy.

March 4th and not much has happened since? What can we do to help or make things go faster?

I got an email from joe on the 4th. It is probably the same as what ainslie received. It tells me I'm a moderator. Once I get some power, I'll hunt down the design and forum guidelines, and re-post them as single-comment sticky threads.

All we can do is wait.
