    Hi all,

I am looking for a simple PHP download manager, to use with a Wordpress site.

I have looked at a couple of WP plugins but none seem to do what I would like it to.

I would like the file to automatically open the save prompt so that a link clicked on a page will not actually change the page, just download the file.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    James

Erm, what is the purpose of this? It seems it would create extra work because you would have to create a php file that force downloads it when the user could just right click > save target/link as.

I wanted the ability to track the number of downloads, and if I ever change the download link location it wouldn't affect posts or users - I just need to update a file.

I have set up a provisional system with a the redirection plugin for wordpress but this doesn't automatically prompt the download.

An example of what I am looking for is here but without the file url being required.

Or is it because it's a ZIP file the download is prompted???

Well it is because its a zip the download is prompted, if you just the links to automagically change to be ones that lead toward your download script that it fairly easy.
