Who designed the new front page - its awful way too much going on, can hardly find anything. For a design site its not a good advert at all.

Maybe the owners should now write a book - "how to ruin a great website in just under a year"
anyone new here - dont bother, site is now dead and there is no longer any community

This site is a template site, so the Idea is to present as many designs upfront instead of making the visitor click through to the next page.
I am aware of the problems with the show/hide effect, and am open to hear any suggestions.
As for the book, I'm actually going to to skip straight to the sequel "How to turn a decent website great in one month"

It's way to busy. But nice to see that you're back and wanting to do something with the site.

well...may be it is not the best design solution but I like more templates get the exposure. However now the loading time of the home page is too slow. I would recommend to set up 16 template on the first page. 4 templates in a row and 3 ads can be placed between 4 rows.

Also the download link on each template on the homepage is http://www.opendesigns.org/%27.$design%5B%27dllink%27%5D.%27 which needs to be changed - probably the wrong quotes in the code.

metamorph - I will try caching solutions, and if they don't work, then I guess I'll have to put less designs.
arbroria - thanks for notifying me, I will fix that ASAP
