WoW N00b questions

    I started playing the WoW free trial (10 days ago) and now I'm addicted. I always thought It was stupid before but then I can be the nerd I have always wanted to be without WoW. Its great but I just don't want to pay for it. Unfortunatly I cant deduct it for taxes :sad: I don't know anything about private servers but I know my friends play em all the time. Can I do this for free? Plus I hear Burnng crusades is lame, so I would like to stick with the original wow. are there any Original WoW private servers? Thanks to all!

    As far as I know, you have to play on a patched WoW server (private) with a patched client. Don't go quoting me on this because I've played the game like once. Maybe wait for the opinion of another WoW nerd :tongue:

    just get addicted to irc, you don't have to pay anything and it doesn't use much bandwidth :p

    I have two or three of those trials. For my MMO fun I play Neverwinter Nights: Richterm's Retreat: Nordock Classic Resurrection. Nordock is massive. People often get lost in dungeons, trapped there until the server resets.

    lol...nah..good way to relax with like-minded folks after a hectic day. I play LOTRO and love it! I'm actually a founder of the game and I've been playing it since BETA:bigsmile:

    I relax by playing Socom 3. Supposidly the new version will be coming out on October 14th, but it was supposed to come out a couple years ago too.

    why would you not wnat BC? Its the same game as wow plus two races, new quests, and a new profession. Google wow private servers and click the first link. then pick one of the options.

    Don't go into a private server expecting everything to work, because 90% of the time it won't. Your best bet is to do what JeremyD suggested, except don't settle for the first server you pick; look around. I dropped my sub to retail to play on a private server and ended up resubscribing because I missed so many of the features that are rarely added. Not to mention when a new retail patch gets pushed out, if you're not on a extremely popular server with great developers you aren't going to see any of the new content for a while. There's also the small problem that most private servers aren't around for more than 6-8 months before they go bottoms up or get shut down.

    From what I hear the new 4850 and 4870 from ATi are better than Nvidia's cards. ATi still has what appears to be a driver issue with power management on the 4870, but all the anti-aliasing issues are fixed. They have incredible performance per dollar.

Knowing you're on there, I may have to pick it up again one day haha. I was called Eldarwen :tongue: As for MMORPGs in general, my boyfriend is absolutely hooked on them (I blame him for my addiction) and is currently playing Conan. It looks fricken' awesome and he's been addicted for a while now (so must be good) so would recommend it to anyone! Doesn't really help with the original question but n/m lol.

    Starcraft! The best game EVER! A few friends and me just found out we all played Starcraft, so we installed it again and are playing online. Great fun!

    heehee..yep..I'm hooked, Jenna! I never was into games until LOTRO...and I'm there only because I'm such a huge Tolkien fan..yeah right! :shamed: characters on Gladden (US server): Tearose, Lavendiel, Malendiel characters on Landroval (US server): Pareth, Cadreth :cool:

    i feel left out...no MMORPGs for me :(. I am more of a Orange Box person! The Orange Box is amazing and I am absolutely hooked on Team Fortress 2. My favorite Team Fortress 2 quote?
