Hi my name is Andrew and I am from Elkridge, MD. I have had a very busy and interesting life so far! I have worked in a whole range of fields including a max correction officer until I got stabbed, personal fitness trainer, and now I do a lot of art pieces in different mediums to make a living. I have a 4year old son who keeps me busy and requires a lot of attention, there for I am stuck at home. I began a interest in web design a few years ago and I am now finally makeing some much needed cash from this hobbie that I hope one day turns into a fulltime company. I have visit a lot of you all on your own sites and other well known opensource forums and you all have gained my respect for all the much needed help I have recieved! I was just a viewer of these sites for awhile, but I figured I will only better myself by getting involved and maybe I will meet some new friends! I also participate in MMA on a regular basis and I might have a few fans out there. Who know's!

Jay A Koster here! I'm 20 years old and am currently living in the South East of England. Design has fascinated me ever since I came into contact with the Internet some time in 2000. (And some time before, if I am honest, I've always been a doodler, designing my own Football Kits, Logos, Personal Robots etc... All the stuff a 5-10 year old needs). I spent some time just admiring the (back then) fabulous site designs on offer before I realised that I wanted to learn how to produce these things myself. I cant really remember exactly how, but gradually I taught myself HTML. I think it was a mix of looking at other pages source code and noticing what the different built-in WYSIWIG buttons in Dreamweaver actually did to HTML code itself. Something like that. I got there in the end, one way or another. I of course started with tables and frames, one of my first pages being the classic; top frame for header, left frame for navigation, bottom frame footer and right frame (with a scroll bar!!!) for content. Man, that thing was the shit. Needless to say I soon discovered CSS Zen Garden and realised that my own designs weren't in fact 'the shit', they were just plain poop. So once again I began aspiring to create things such as I'd seen and loved on these pages, but I was also inspired by the cleanliness of the code on these pages. Something up until then I frankly didn't care about (how ignorant!) I got a kick out of removing the style sheets and still having a perfectly legible page. This opened up the whole code aspect of design to me, and thank the stars that it did! :-) I came across OSWD around this time 2 years ago and have contributed what I can ever since. Other loves of my life are learning (any subject), reading, music (I play Guitar, albeit poorly) and pretty much anything creative!

Hello everyone! I've actually been a long time follower of this community, since long before OSWD broke down into what it is today. This is the first time, however, that I'm ever posting (or actually registering an account) or taking any sort of active involvement in the community. I've been actively involved in web design and other areas of design for about 8 years now, and have benefited immensely from the designs submitted to OSWD and OWD as they have helped me out with inspiration when I'm having "design block." In any event, I look forward to being an active member of this new community and perhaps submitting some of my work here sometime.

Hi, everybody. My name is James Clark and I am a 17-year old from Spring Hill, FL. I had a few memberships in OSWD (I would stop going for a couple of months and then forget the username) and also a membership in OWD's community, though I was very off-and-on. I first started coding about four years ago. I have to say that I actually learned to create pages by going on OSWD regularly and messing with other designs. I became interested in it and have since looked at it as a part-time hobby. My first designs were XHTML/CSS and were didn't use tables. Honestly, I didn't even learn to use tables until about a year ago when I needed to use them for some stupid PHP thing I was doing (I don't quite remember what). Well, nowadays I have taught myself (of course with the aid of tutorials and communities such as this one) HTML/XHTML, CSS, js, PHP & MySQL, Java, some C (I'm working on it), and a little bit of some others. I like to experiment. Umm... lets see... every XHTML design I have ever made I made entirely in a standard text-editor. I think I create cleaner code than any (DreamWeaver) program could create. Well, I'm running out of things to say, so I guess this is goodbye for now. I wish the best of luck to all members here and this wonderful website. We finally have one managed by the people. I just hope it doesn't get sold like OWD. Happy holidays! - James
