I've been using Vanilla for the forum on my website for the past couple of days. I really like it, but before I integrate it into my site I would like to try some alternatives out.

Any ideas on other open source forums to try?

Hey megadeth. I've used bbPress and am currently using punbb for my forum. I prefer these over Vanilla, but thats just me.

Punbb looks nice and doesn't look to be to hard to customize. It also sort of feels like a lightweight version of vB, so it would be easy for Vb users to intergrate into the forum. Thanks for the suggestion. smile

    Any others?

well, how about you try a few out for yourself? OpenSourceCMS provides demo installs so you can try out the features of many free Bulletin Boards, CMS's, Photogalleries etc. It's a great place to try out some Open Source goodies.
