    I had webspace with cabspace, but they have been nothing but trouble over the last couple of months. Seeing as I am somewhat financially challenged at the moment, (House Renovations) I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable
    free host. I don't need anything too special.bigsmile

    I like them. If you have a designer page, there were some members here that were offering free hosting to designers.

    Edit over a year later.....xmg lost its charm. 000host is now tops for me.

    Two others were (not to put anyone on the spot):
    Draicone
    • Unlimited Space & Bandwidth (within reason)
    • NO Cpanel

    Yugnats

    • Hard caps for bandwidth and space (still more than you need)

    • CPanel

    I am a moderator at Retect (free hosting), and as a desperate staff member, I'd love to see the place grow. We could really use some active forum posters who will adhere to the rules and will make the place a little more alive. cry

    I am there. Sorry we have a maximum of 4gb space, but if that's not enough the people there are really cool, and could help you out. And this host has existed longer than you think, the admin, z l x has been hosting free for a long time. So I trust them.

    I personally think, that offer of Frihost is somewhat better. Not so much posting required. I don't using them, since I need Czech server for my project. I have my personal site on free wiki Wikidot.

    There is a list of recommended free web hosts (no ads/banners) and free website samples (based on free hosting).

    http://www.000webhost.com/ - my boyfriend uses these and it's all been smooth sailing so far. Not had any problems.

    Well, If you have not settled on a web host. I coudl always add you to my host. It would have no caps on resources. FTP and SQL. Subdomain. or domain ;) .

    This is a great free hosts directory: Free Web Hosting

    Worth mentioning 110mb.com, although some services require the payment of a one time small fee.

    For personal websites, perhaps the oldest in the market, both very reliable: Freehostia and Awardspace.

    I tried a lot, and i mean A LOT of free hosts, so my websites are hosted on non-free hosts wink

    Besides, it can be really cheap. Take a look at Nearly Free Speech.net.

    scrap that, it's a one year old thread that was dragged up three months ago by a spam post, and dragged up a few hours ago by yet another spam post :)
