With my current project, i'm looking to have an area so that Navy veterans can login and add their service information (i.e. dates, rank, ship name, etc.) and it's dumped into a DB. Then, the data is either pulled out through a simple search or displayed alphabetically if no search is used.

i've set up a DB and some tables, but this is proving to be deeper than my limited knowledge of PHP/MySQL. i've looked around for some open source aps, like social networking or dating, but they all are over the top or jacked up.

Does anyone know of some an open source ap that could handle what i'm looking for? It doesn't need to be fancy, it just needs to work.
