General Talk: Wordpress 2.0.2 to 2.1 Upgrade issue (Yahoo)

    I spent all Sunday trying to upgrade Wordpress 2.0.2 (which is the Yahoo Webhosting default) to 2.1. For some reason I could not get my blog to work.
    All I see is a blank page.
    Did anybody experience the same with Yahoo?
    Any suggestions? Hopefully one of you WP pros can help me out.

    Or should I just drop Yahoo and go with BlueHost...confused

    I'm not sure about Yahoo hosting...I haven't heard good things about it though...so..did you do a backup before upgrading?
    did you deactivate your plugins prior to upgrading? That is critical...also it could be that the theme or a plugin you are using isn't compatible with version 2.1

    Yes, I backed up, deactivated everything, and the theme is 2.1 compliant. I gave up and just continue using 2.0.2 (works actually fine)

    You may want to look at this thread over at Wordpress support: The Link. Scroll down to the last two comments. It's for upgrading to 2.0.4, so its old, but it still may help. Good luck.

    eurogrande, I wonder what version of PHP Yahoo hosting has..that could be part of the problem too.

    Good link refueled. There is quite some info about upgrading with Yahoo. Seems the best way is to switch to another host....

    Yup. it was. I dont know much about BlueHost like you mentioned above. But I use 1and1 and have had no issues. I've heard good things about DreamHost as well.
