    It appears that one of the best free hosting sites is no longer "free." All my pages there now have ads on the bottom.

    Oh well, that's what you get with free hosting. It's their prerogative. But now I'm off to other hosting. Suggestions?

    Not sure why that happened. I just checked my page there, and no ad. I am confused. Anyway, I also have an account at xmgfree, which also allows .php, something cabspace does not allow. It is a good free host. Good luck with it.

    xmgfree. allows php (as NickyD said)

    features: mySQL, Postgre, webmail, parked and add-on domains, email accounts, ftp, stats, fantastico, etc. all via cPanel. very nice support forum too.

    If you need a free webhost the one i use is www.4uhost.info , but they are moving servers and might not have new accounts until it is moved. If you want to wait go ahead :D

    About cabspace having ads, I can't see anything in their tos about it, but I found a forum post of a person asking

    If it's not in their tos I guess you could just block the ads yourself with z-index or display none... But there are better hosts out there.

    Like I said you can wait to use 4uhost.info, or
    If you would like to look use www.freewebspace.net/forums and look in the offers section. Don't bother making a request the best deals are in the offer section. It is very active.

    Another good host is awardspace.com. They are free with no ads and have mysql, php, and perl.
