Lately, I've been designing more and more minimal blogs. I'm taking a hiatus from the stress of freelancing, and need something to fill my time.

I'm looking to build a team of 3-5 people to code a great WordPress theme. Something minimal, lightweight, and extremely customizable. Something like K2 or Tarski. It'd be a good commitment in the early stages, and I'll provide all the hosting + a domain for whatever the theme would be called. Anyone interested?

I know that beggers can't be choosers, but an expert level of knowledge in CSS and knowing your way around PHP/WordPress tags would help! bigsmile

Oh yes! I had a great conversation with Joe today on AIM. We've decided to call the theme Wasabi. It's going to be a theme framework, very customizable, but with a beautiful (if I may say so) initial theme that I'm currently developing. I'll keep everyone posted.

Wasabi - its root is used as a spice.

Wasabi - Spice up your theme.

    Spiffy. Sorry couldn't resist.

    Oh, I love it!

By the way, to everyone else that responded, I'm very grateful! Don't feel like I've neglected you. devil I just saw Joe on AIM and couldn't resist.

I'll shoot all of you an email once I get my initial design mock-up done. Thanks guys!

Argh... my Internet is screwing with me again. I'm downloading at 5 bytes per second on a T3 line. How's that? I have no idea.

I'm on AIM as coolanbradley if you want, but right now Skype is not in the cards.

My Mac has Skype, but I haven't used it in a while. It's being repaired now, and I should have it back tomorrow. I'll let you know when I can get on Skype.

Alright, for the record, I love Media Temple. I bought the domain for Wasabi at 4:00 PM today and it resolved in an hour. Luck is on our side! wink

    GETWASABI.ORG

I've got a simple placeholder up, and I'm setting up a WordPress devblog right now.

About 3 months. Couldn't be happier!

    Maybe that's a little extreme...

I was looking for a good vector-type chunk of Wasabi, cause it's so literal, but I just went with a Japanese style thing I got from the unbelievable iconset by Meiji Taisho. Got any ideas?

Found this california roll at dA, what are the chances the artist will let us use it?

And I think I'm starting to hijack the forum here. In a short while I'll set something up on getwasabi.org for those still interested.
