    Trout Gif Optimizer

    A very excellent free tool that can optimize gif's with almost no quality loss. I optimized the header images on my site by 70%, and it looks the same.

    Here's one for the PHP DBAs, as opposed to coding it from hand, my gtools.org site provides an MD5 hash generator :)

    The usenet group alt.comp.freeware has been compiling this list since about 2002.
    The extensive list of programs (in all categories) listed there are all completely free, contain no spyware, malware, etc.
    I am not afiliated with this list although I was in on the creation of the pages at it's inception.

    Web Thumb which is a really simple tool to generate screenshots of websites. They also have an extremely easy to use API which, quite obviously, requires you to register to get full access to it (and your required API key). Web Thumb is what powers our screenshots now as well smile

    firefox web developer add-on this addon is mad i just found out about it so bear with me. it breaks down any website into its html coding, CSS and other scripts you can think of. so if you ever stumble up on website and wonder how did hey do that get firefox web developer add-on

    Yep it is rather good, think of Crazy Egg but with all the source code available totally freely to do whatever you like with it.

    I love all these Open Source / free alternatives to the popular paid software, and next up theres something similar to Basecamp, but once again its totally free and full source code is provided...

    active Collab: activeCollab is an easy to use, web based, open source collaboration and project management tool.
