Open Designs

Community. Driven.

Not sure who handles this, so I figured I'd open a thread. When I uploaded all of my designs a few days ago, only one of them was approved (Nonzero). The rest were rejected because the stylesheet was apparently missing, when in fact they were present in the zip files.

Just now I tried uploading one of my designs again and noticed the same problem. I took a look at the live preview of the design at the following URL:

    http://www.opendesigns.org/designs/287/

and noticed that while the style.css file was indeed present in the original zip file, it wasn't unzipped along with the rest of the files, as you can see here:

    http://www.opendesigns.org/designs/287/style.css

Is there something up on your end, or am I doing something wrong?

I must say, that is interesting. I downloaded your zip, and will do some testing with it, but in the meantime, try zipping the folder containing all the files, not just the individual files.

Would that work? I thought the index.html file had to be at the root of the zip file.

This has happened with a couple designs but not all, so I don't think it's something on our end because in theory, wouldn't it happen all the time?

But Joe is on the case it seems, so lets see what he comes up with.

@node: what did you do different in the design that worked and was approved verses the ones that didn't?

    Sacrificed a small woodland creature.

Aside from that, nothing. I thought it may have had something to do with the name of the stylesheet (since in Nonzero, there are a couple of different stylesheets with odd names, whereas in all my others they're all named default.css). I tried changing it to style.css in my most recent attempt with TerraFirma but was met with the same crushing, embarrassing defeat.

Well Joe is looking into it, so hopefully you'll know for sure soon.

I'm getting things ready for a WordPress upgrade, so later if the site is non working for a few minutes, you'll know why.

    God help us all.

But cool, hopefully he'll figure out why some of my zip files are being more oppressed than others.

the files have to bee in the root folder the way things are set up, but the folder should be zipped, not it's content.
I have no idea why this should affect your stylesheet, but it's the only difference I can see between your upload and the rest of the site templates.
Again, I'm looking into it wink

I'll hold off trying again until you figure out what the deal is. After all, without my precious stylesheets, all people will see is my poorly-written markup. My reputation is on the line.
