Hi there ... I created a site inspired by the layout and code of a template from OD.org ... (Dark Ritual by arcsin, although it looks almost nothing like it anymore)and would like to have it ported to Wordpress if at all possible. Alternately, is there a really good resource for ready-made WP themes that can be edited/customized? Thanks so much from a WP noob!

If you send it through to pinkmunkeys [at] gmail.com (it is a "u" not an "o" just to clarify!) then i'll convert it for you in the morning if you like :)

Send a description also as wordpress themes have descriptions which appear in the themes section of the admin.

Wordpress can be very easy depending on what you want to do with it, a simple, look here are my posts is incredibly simple, but properly porting it to support every feature of Wordpress can be a little more effort, but i'm sure (if you wanted to learn how to do it yourself) you could find a tutorial on it via your favoured search engine.

If you want to try it yourself I would recommend WP Themer Kit
    http://wpthemerkit.com/

It comes with all necessary files and you just need to modify the css file by using the html-demofile. You can choose between several layouts (1-3 columns, right sidebar, left sidebar). It is a really cool tool.
  1.
For $10 you could give ThemesPress a shot, and you only pay if you're happy with the outcome.

Thank you all ... I am not in a huge hurry as this little boutique is a work in progress (as is my learning wordpress ;) that I am still trying to see if there is a market out there for it (cool outfits - maybe vintage maybe modern - most that are unusual enough to be considered hard to find...?) .. Just another one of my crazy hobbies.

@bluecafe .. I will give that a try when I get a free moment one evening since I can't install squat here at werk ... thanks!

@Rob: thank you ... I may have to take you up on that, if not for this site, then for another that is driving me nuts (and yes, I do bribe with goodies on occasion ;)

@Christopher: that is another good option ... I have seen their work and its pretty cool ...

Err... please correct me if i'm wrong, but if you want to make a boutique Wordpress seems the solution i would think about last. There are: open source e-shops, easy to customize; general purpose CMSs, much more straightforward to use than wordpress if you want to make a e-shop.
So, what the point of using a BLOG software to make an e-shop??? Better make the e-shop without the blog part wink
(i know, i know, stirring the hornet's nest. Designers seem to be wordpress dependend, go figure...)

@fernbap: its not 100% e-shop (actually if we sell anything from it, it will most likely be a surprise to us! A pleasant one definitely but a honest surprise in light of the current economy ;) but a little more like a shopaholics blog about the treasures we find all around the town. And a chance to show them off, as well as our various collections ;) Is there a CMS you would recommend that is very easy to configure/use that I can incorporate a blog section into? One of the reasons that I was first looking at wordpress is that its free ;) And has a lot of customizeable plugins ... I do plan to check out the lightandeasy CMS for another project (that is designed for a non-technical user in mind to update pages) so perhaps I can use it for this too... its a thought ;)
