Does anyone have any experience of running e-mail newsletters? I have a client who is interested in starting a newsletter with a few 100 subscribers to begin with.
They don't mind paying, and in fact want to know how much it costs technology and design-wise to do one.
I was looking at phpList, but perhaps there are better options? -

Constant Contact is one of the better known ways of running email newsletters.
Google says this about them: "Email marketing software that makes it easy to create professional HTML email campaigns with no tech skills. Sign up for a 60-Day FREE trial."
Sounds like a place to start if your clinet doesn't care about money. -

I prefer not to do hosted newsletters. Instead I often recommend something like Constant Contact.
Edit: He he, I started reading the thread and had an emergency website call. -

I've heard that Emma is pretty sweet. Although I haven't tried it out for myself. -

Feedblitz is free and will do everything you want it to. I find their usability to be a bit confusing, but I thought constant contacts wasn't great either so why not try the free one? -

Thanks for the inputs. Will forward all the links along!
Anyone tried phplist, by the way? -
