I decided to pack in both freelance web design and WordPress consulting. I've been doing this for over 12 years now and I've just had it. I'm done with trading time for money...done with having to deal with the bs of consulting...
I'm just tired and a little jaded...

so I've decided to go the Affiliate marketing route and I'm working on my own product as well (I have for some time). Don't get me wrong, I will always be supportive of Open Source designs as well as commercial designs. I still plan on designing templates and WP themes just for the fun of it. I just don't want to do it for a living any more.

Affiliate marketing is very lucrative if you have the right tools, the right information, the right products to market, and the ability to write good ads to send visitors to your affiliate URL. An advertising budget is good to have too but I've found you can make money from advertising free...it just takes a little longer...I've already started to get some sales and I'm actually looking forward to enjoying a future of automated income.

As far as creating my own product or products, I have a couple of ideas and it is just a matter of putting them all together. Half the problem is trying to find a need and being able to fulfill that need and making it something that is in demand. I will also be looking at the possiblility of joint ventures some time in the future...

any way, now you know why I haven't been in here as much lately...

Shame to hear it got you down, but I can definitely understand why that would happen.

    Good luck with the marketing!

I can completely understand the BS end of things and hope you can make time to be around here.

All the best with the new venture.

Hey Karen....Sorry to hear that it has dragged you down. I did it part time & it's getting to be a P.I.T.A. for me as well.

Good luck with your future plans!
