Well it's June the 3rd here but no download yet.

You can always get RC1 if you can't wait. Seems stable so far.

I have heard that the release of Firefox 3 is delayed and the final date for the download day will be pronounced later. There is no mention of June 3rd on the spread firefox site anymore. I think all who have pledged will get a message anyway.

I have already installed RC1 and everything looks fine so far. It is possible to install Firefox 3 in addition to Firefox 2. For this it is necessary to deactivate the automated update feature and to install Firefox 3 in a separate folder (not the standard Mozilla folder).

Firefox 3 is finished, just download the latest candidate and it'll be the same as ff3, they're just waiting on the firefox 3 t-shirts to be sorted out in order to release it (you may have been aware they ran a competition to design it).

I work for the company that runs the mozilla international (non US) store by the way and everyone's been getting in a stress about these t-shirts for a few weeks now.

We also run the Canonical Store and got hit by a massive surge when the Hardy Heron version of Ubuntu was released, which is why we're a bit behind.

(p.s. don't hate me for the coding standards on the mozilla store, it was all done before I joined the company I swear! tongue )
  2.
    IT'S NOW OFFICIALLY RELEASED!
    DOWNLOAD IT EVERYONE!
p.s. the new look is slick

Interesting to note that Iran has more downloads than Canada, Australia, France, UK, Russia, Spain or China

For you who haven't got a clear idea about what's new in FF3 might perhaps get a grip by reading this article: Top 10 Firefox 3.0 Features.

I don't really like the new autocompletion thingy so I disabled it (enter "about:config" in address bar and change the value of the key "browser.urlbar.autoFill" to "false"). You might also want to change "browser.urlbar.maxRichResults" which is the number of suggestions FF should show when typing in the address bar (tip: all settings for the address bar starts with "browser.urlbar").

More settings explained (from Mozilla Knowledge Base)

I really like the speed in FF3, it really is way faster now.

What I'm trying to figure out is not having the page title show in the address URL area too. Any ideas?
