    When I was reading the topic tittle i was like: "Our Search Engine For Open Designs" *cough*sucks*cough* Maybe like 40% is actuate.

    OT: I hate the current OD search engine.. Takes literally minutes to search.

    IS there even a search engine that works on the discussion parts of the site? I have been looking for a couple of earlier discussions and failing miserably. Namely the one the talked about code for Overnight Prints discount (sale code) for getting biz cards printed, and also the thread discussing some php code for Customer Testimonials to post to a website ... I am really interested in finding both of these threads but can't for the life of me locate them. Is there a trick to the search engine and I am just being a N@@bhead? ;)cry

    Well, initially when I put this thread up, I just thought it would be fun to discuss the personalized search engine. Never thought it would open up a can of worms here....sorry.

    Back to topic - is this something that needs to connect to the internet or can it be used on an intranet with no external access? I cannot access the site (dang netnanny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) from here so cannot review - is there a mirror site I could look at NickyD?

    Thanks Lewis, I thought it was pretty cool that it actually works.

    Lil, you would have to connect to the internet. It is a web site that can create a google like personalize search engine. It would look like the image below.

    @NickyD: Unfortunately for security reasons we cannot have an external site index our internal portal. It would eb useful for other sites I putter around with but not for work :(

NN here (and btw it took me a minute to realize you were referring to net nanny and not someone you were calling numb n#tz ;) Around here it has blocked so many sites that are in no way shape or form p@rn, or anything else "n@sty" that I will not be surprised the next time it blocks a hospital or breast cancer website, or something on social engineering! A@A@RGH!!!!devil

    ot: reminds me of high school. the retarded techies placed so many filters on our web browsing it wasn't funny. they blocked access to things like msn, gmail, yahoo... and certain keywords would cause the browser to close itself: obvious words like "sex" or "porn". so if you went to a web site where one of those keywords appeared anywhere, away goes your browser. "nazi" was also one of the keywords which made my ww2 assignment kinda difficult to work on.

    My school board blocks the respective website for both opera and firefox (without explanation).
