Hi all!
First of all, congratulations for the nice work you have done with the opendesigns.org! What I have to announce here might of particular interest for all of you!
I'm a webmaster at Freelancing.gr which is currently running a contest for the re-design of its website!
Freelancing.gr invites you all to participate in the contest by sending a mock up based on the freelancing.gr existing template. The colour scheme, the presentation and style is up to you as long as the existing freelancing.gr logo fits in!
Sign up now and submit your mock up at the contest from 15/05/2008 until 30/06/2008 or just take part at the electronic voting for the best mock up from 01/07/2008 until 31/07/2008. The designer whose mock up will receive the highest number of votes will win the €500 prize!
You can find more details at http://www.freelancing.gr/index.jsp?link=mockupcontest
Good luck to all of you! -

Why would you want the new style built on top of that dinosaur (old code)?
Isn't that a bit limiting (to base it on the current template)? -

I believe we are allowed to change it completely, but he wants the same logo. The original design is just horrible. However, the logo itself looks very generic and not stylish.

It's a good way of getting loads of template mockups.

thanx for the comments!
we already know that the site is not so stylish and that is why we are running the contest...in order to find a fresh look!
we do not want to keep the old code which is full of tables, nor to built the new one on top of it, but more like a template that would be the sequence of the first page, which we would like to keep it with a little retouch of course or sth completely different from the beginning.
You could improve the logo but you can not change it completely since it is a registered trademark.
What we want is to keep the logic structure of the site and give it a new, web 2 look, which of course we prefer it to be tableless and more search friendly, but we want to keep it quite simple and easy to navigate.
Regarding the mockups that will be gathered through the contest, the designers will keep the copyright and only the copyright of the winning mock up will be transfered to freelancing.gr after signing a contract with the winner. There are more detailed answers regarding the contest at http://www.freelancing.gr/index.jsp?link=mockupcontest
we will be glad to hear your suggestions or better so see them in a mock up! -
