I wanted to start another discussion about capturing video. Christopher helped me with capturing a video in another thread, but I was wondering what programs/tools some of you used to capture video from web sites if needed?

try heading over to the newsgroup alt.comp.freeware too and see what searching for the keywords does for you Len. You're sure to find some good free stuff there.

    I'd also try camstudio

Thank you Pete. I will look into camstudio as well.

Con: If I see something like a newscast that I want to capture, I want to know if there is a way to save it. I have a add-on to my firefox called download helper, that will allow me to capture video and save it to my computer. It can capture about 75% of my footage I want.

I know on sites like You Tube, you have the option of getting the video easily, but many sites don't offer that.

OK, not following this (duh for me). Questions:

    1. What is the best way to clear your cache before trying this?
    2. Any video I see on the screen will now be in this cache?
    3. If I see the video, how would I save it?
  6.
Internet Explorer: Tools>Internet Options>(then there are some options, i cant remember.) there should be an option to clear history and temp internet files.

Load the vid then go to tools>internet options>view files and there they are.
