I tried posting on the Word Press forum, but it is slow there at times.

I just upgraded to Word Press v. 2.5

For some reason now, when I try to activate my plugin wp-contact form after the update, it will not let me activate it. Anyone know why or has anyone experienced this? Thanks.

    My blog is here.

Hi Len, there are a heap of different contact form plugins. I've tried most... and had heaps of trouble having them not style properly... not that that has anything to do with you're prob.

Maybe try another one that works? or delete the whole plugin and start afresh?

    Pete

Thanks Pete. Those are great ideas.

When it happened, I did delete it, and upload it again, no luck.

Then, I tried a different plugin, and that one did not work. I can't understand why all my other plugins activated, but no contact form plugins. It has to be something simple, but I just cannot figure it out.

    Thanks.

have you tried: cforms 2? I think this plugin is the best in terms of contact forms. I use it on my site which is running WordPress 2.5.

Here is a list of plugins that are compatible with wordpress 2.5 ...
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Plugin_Compatibility/2.5

unfortunately wp-contactform isn't. Anyway there are a lot of other contact forms plugins around and I agree with refueled that cformsII is a nice plugin ..

    I use this contact form:
    http://www.douglaskarr.com/projects/wp-contactform/

no issues for me at all using 2.5

it could be another plugin conflict perhaps. Try deactivating all plugins, and then activate your contact form first before others and see if that works...

the compatibility list at wordpress.org is incomplete. I found many plugins I have worked that were NOT on the list
  1.
I use PXS Mail Form, and it works like a charm, even when I upgraded to 2.5. What I like about this one is that (a) you can specify your own CSS if you want, and (b) you can specify custom error messages for when they don't fill in required fields, and also a custom success message. I've never had any problems.

Yep, after trying 5 different contact forms, Karen's worked. I hope this helps those of you who update. Many of the contact forms do not work anymore. Thank you everyone.

@NickyD: cforms didn't work for you? ...not to say at all the contact form you chose is bad. Just wondering.

    Hi refueled:
I downloaded it, activated it, but was not skilled enough to get it to work, and I did not want to bother anyone here about it. It was a little more complex than other forms. I can download it again if you think I should try it again.

You might also want to try out WP Contact Form 7 (linked above) which is pretty simple to use, and flexible as well if you ever needed any other input.

I do like cforms the best and their included styles. What was the problem exactly with that one?

With the old WP-ContactForm alone you may have trouble with spam, there's also an Akismet edition for that one.

I use WP Contact Form 7 too. It's the only one that styled well right out of the box.
