Are my eyes bugging out on me or is the new FCtemplates design with the blue sky an almost exact replica of This design by galflayt ?? and have you noticed an increased number of new users with very similar names? Or am I just losing my mind>? ;0

    Yup, I'd say it is.

I think this is something the community needs to take issue with; what's the point in filling the OD site up with duplicates?

Me, I'd vote for taking a hard-nut/line approach and banning users that do it.

It appears they are exactly the same design.

The design should be removed as it clearly is a duplicate...

I thought that design had been submitted before .. thanks for pointing that out.

Indeed they do look the same.

Here's a question, which one gets removed and which one stays?

I'll look into both user accounts and see if they are the same person or not but yeah, we don't need things like this going on.

Is it the whole process starting all over again?

Mr. webdesigningisfunlolz decides "Hey, I'll make a website that jacks the existing freecsstemplates.org name. It's rude and mean, but legal so who cares?"

The website owner then says "Hmm I will need some templates on my site if anyone is to come here. And They need to be designed by me with a forced linkback so I look good!"

The website owner then realizes that they have no web design skill whatsoever. "Oh darn. I don't want to spend hours of hard work making quality templates. I would much rather prefer to take other people's quality templates. I can submit some with changes that any person could easily make. I will submit others exactly the same with my own text and designed by link replacing the author's."

    The end

FCtemplates is the same user as freecsstemplate.net, by the way. Or at least, that would be logical.

And also, does this look familiar, I can't figure out why but it does:

I was about to post this earlier. They are exactly the same, neither even bothered to spell "welcome" correctly.

I'm with Sean though, we shouldn't just assume that the first to submit it here was the original author. It's the first template for both username's, though as kirb says, FCtemplates may be freecsstemplate.net

TEstimonial from freecsstemplate.net: If you are able to find templates better than those, I’ll give $1000. Those ones are really professionally done and all pass the validation.

Perfect name of a template to ripoff. Irony tastes bitter in the morning.

this calls for a custom opendesigns license - "you are free to do whatever you want with this template provided you have no intentions of completely ripping it off and screwing over the original designer".

Hahaha, amen brother. Now all we need is a nifty logo for the new license.

Using the same general layout is one thing, but that basically looked like all they did was "rename" and resubmit! There are some great designers here ... and there are some aesthetically challanged copycats with alleycat morals as well (not pointing fingers but its pretty obvious over the last month or two ;) so perhaps there should be some stricter guidelines for submission perhaps? Otherwise people who have all the design talent of a slug are getting to claim other people's hard work as their own and are even COPYRIGHTING it (well the opensource equivillant - requiring a link to their site, etc) ... seems like a ripoff for the people who worked long hours on their designs ...
