Ok, So I got a new site! That means new design!

    thelostworld.us

    Tell me what you think...

    FF, IE approved!
  1.
love the nav... relative font size, plz?

    Great Work
  2.
Sharp design! A couple of areas for improvement, selon moi.

One, the background image takes a while to load... about 5 seconds for me.

And, a little less space between the top nav and the main content area would be nice... okay, a lot less space. I can't even see any content at first glance on my laptop screen (1024 x 768).

Other than that, keep up the good work! Looks stunning.

Its great but... Why is there a huge gap in the middle of it?

I would thicken the font of the top nav, center it, and lose the /'s.

Also, probably reduce the height between top and content to like 150-200px tops.

Other than that, awesome design. Reminds me of Vista.

Gorgeous image. Interesting navigation, but on both browsers I looked at it on (i.e and ff, both in xp and vista) the nav was way far from the main body of the site and forced the user to scroll down. Was this intended? The main image is very beautiful but the scrolling seemed excessive ... otherwise nice design overall!bigsmile

Thank You! I Will make the gap a bit smaller. I might make a tooltip if your res is lower than xxxx by xxxx please scroll down or something.

Just wait until I get javascript in their! Did I say I love MooTools?

You could use something like FooterStickAlt to drop it down to the bottom in all resolutions... Just have to make the height fixed.

<scarcasm>I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I don't have to scroll. 3200x1200 rocks, and I am not looking forward to being on a laptop, because it will feel claustrophobic. </scarcasm>
That gap is a tad large, but the transparency is great.

I love the design, it's simple, and it exposes the absolute beauty in the image presented. This is not necessarily web design but more a piece of art. Good job!

My only suggestion is that you might try cutting some off KB off the background image; even on high speed it takes a few seconds to load. Look at it this way: You will save a ton on bandwidth costs.
