Such a simple, but good idea to keep the cable mess under control:

You've got to throw out everything and start with new hardware of course tongue

....or you could just detach it from the peg board.

After my Grandfather passed on, we had a massive clean up of his house...i made off with about 400 square feet or so of peg board. There are benefits to be being a pack rat. cheers Pat.

The peg boared could easily be sized to accommodate most instances.
by adjustable brackets screwed inside the desk framing on across the back
then just unplug it all and move the whole ball of whacks.

There are several ways to keep the pegboard in place and all are easy to remove it in just a few seconds. The hardware/cables can also be kept on with different things. If you browse some people use twist ties, tie wraps and a few used little metal brackets that fit around for ex the modem or hdd. Also because the brackets allow it to hang about an inch below the desk (the gap between desk and board) you can run your cables on top of the peg board and this helps from having them hang down or having to wad them up and tie wrap them. You can cut out holes in the peg board big enough for the cable to fit through and plug in through there. Then your cables just sit on top of the peg board.
