Uuuuh, terrible!
I made something similar for OWD centuries ago:
My little Notebook
As you can see, it's also possible without tons of tables and only with XTHML/CSS.
BTW: Kicked my cat, too!

I like the watching the multiple images load one by one.. it's sort of exciting wondering what image is going to pop up next! It's a bit like website fireworks. -

Now, how easy would it be to, using the available images, make the same design but with actual text?
hmm. I'll get onto it.

Soft colors, low contrast that you won't be bothered with actually reading the text, slow and monotone loading routines ... I am sure it does a good job helping you to mentally switch off after a busy day, become drowsy and easily fall asleep ...

Oh please, this is just an amateur site.
It takes forever to load on hi-speed, is too small to read, the background is awful, the navigation is impossible to comprehend because you have to crick your neck to read it. And for us oldies all that is a big hassle.
So what exactly is your point Pete, why did you show us this site? Did you design it many eons ago...???
Or did you kill the cat instead..??
P.S. No offense intended, only dark humour... -

Well, I would definately reccomend using caching to reduce those load times...<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="max-age=99999" />replace 9999 with how long you want it to cache for. -

The idea is pretty clever, but the execution of the site is....well....terrible. -
