starting today and continuing once a week I will be blogging about a particular template of my choice. This helps me and helps the designer get some exposure.
It helps me by keeping me ranked high in Google for certain keywords and it helps the designer because I get fairly good traffic to my site, especially lately.

anyway, David Carter's Photography template got my vote this week

@kirby145: All Karen is doing is using the screen shot from OD (saved to her local hosting, not hot linking) and then doing a review on her own personal blog.

Anyone can do that exact thing right now on the OD forum or on a personal blog just like Karen.

What Karen is doing, anyone can... and it's very community driven

At some point it would be cool to have a "featured designs" section on OD but knowing how some would like it to work would also be good.

A few questions that come to mind: Who picks the designs to be featured? How long are they featured? What makes a design worthy to be featured over another design?

The way Karen is doing it now, it's her own personal preference. If OD was to have a featured section, some people will be happy and some will not... we then get into the "not pleasing everyone" topic again.

Anyway, great job Karen for showing your support to OD and the designers bakies for all!

of course I want to support OD! I may have been absent lately but I'm still very loyal to this place.

Featured Designs here would really help designers get good exposure. Frank at OSWD featured one of my designs for the longest time (one of those long absences of his!) and that put me on the map, so to speak.
