As a basic statistics comparison tool we can use the ALEXA TREND GRAPH.
The graph compares OpenDesigns.org, OpenWebdesign.org, OSWD.org and Freelayouts.com with each other. It is true that Alexa is not so exact, but for comparison purposes with other websites it gives us a rough estimate. The Alexa trend graph is updated several times a week. So you can keep coming back to this thread in order to check how the OD popularity is growing in comparison with the other websites. Alexa stats are shown for a running 12-month period.
Sean, if you have any more stats, just drop them right into this thread. It's nice to see the growing OD popularity. -

Sorry, I overlooked that there already was a thread "Visitor Stats". But maybe we can keep my thread here anyway, because the Alexa link at the top is relevant for all future times, and having it here at the top makes it easy to access. -

http://alexaholic.com/ is a great site for comparing the Alexa graphs of different websites. Try comparing OWD, OSWD.org, OD and a few others! -

gwolfgang, you need a vacation my friend
How did you overlook the visitor stats thread I started two days ago when you actually commented on it as well? Hehe.
Indeed, you need a break. -

@Sean -- you nailed that down, I REALLY need a vacation. Those short nights for the last two months just have made my brain go spongy, my nerves turn tense, and my memory get leaky. Indeed, I am actually going on vacation tomorrow Thursday, for three weeks, home to Sweden (Andreas country!). See you all in 2007!
Greetings from vacation country ...

Sweden is nice. Especially the northern part. I live north of the arctic circle, and I can assure you that we are getting a white christmas this year. Like always. I've never seen a christmas without snow up here...
But on the other hand, the snow usually doesn't go away until May so the summer is way too short... -

yikes...that's a long winter, Andreas...
I live in southern Ontario (Welland) in Canada...our winters used to be a lot different from what they are now. Based on the long-range weather report at The Weather Network, we're going to have a green Christmas

@ arwen
If you're in need of some snow, we have plenty here in Saskatchewan.... will a couple of feet do the trick for you?

Sigh... I so want to see a white winter. It's around 25 degrees Celsius in the daytime here in Bangalore right now! About 15 in the night.

Ha! I would love to have a white Chrismas myself, but unfortunately I live in Florida. It is about 80°F (26°C) right now, and that is a lot cooler than it has been the last week. I can't really hope for any snow, but it looks like it'll rain soon. Close enough.

About Sweden, it's a long country from north to south - here in the middle (Örebro) I will have a christmas without snow
(but thats not normal).
Andreas probably has very long nights (right?) now and long days in the summer. Here we atleast have six hours of daylight. -

Six hours of daylight
That'll take some getting used to! I found it so weird when I went to England over the summer and it used to be light till 9 in the night!
You kind of end up taking for granted here that daylight/night are more or less 12/12!

9 in the night is fairly late for it to get dark here in the UK! Yesterday it got dark at around 4:30 -_- I dont really mind it getting dark late, but I hate it being dark when I get up, it feels like I should still be in bed sleeping :-D -

Here in Jokkmokk (Sweden) the sun doesn't get up over the horizon at all during the darkest weeks. The little daylight that we have contains no direct sunlight, and it is naturally not full daylight.
But like Mattias wrote, in the summer (June/July) we have midnight sun, where the sun simply doesn't go down for several weeks. Constant daylight 24 hours per day, it is an amazing experience. The wonderful and light summer makes it worth getting through the long winter...
By the way, the header image in my andreas01 template is ia winter scene from my home village, Porjus. The header image in andreas02 shows the midnight sun. Unintentional symbolism, I guess. ;)
